2024 COLOURSCAPE MUSIC FESTIVAL
on Clapham Common

Sept 14th to 22nd - EUROPE'S MOST UNUSUAL ARTS FESTIVAL.

Eye Music Trust presents its flagship Colourscape Festival on Clapham Common in our 70 chamber "Festival Two" Colourscape.

Colourscape opens at 11am on weekends, and concerts take place from 11.30 to 3.30pm. PLUS on Thursday and Friday Sept 19 and 20th we open for an extra "Quiet" day at reduced admission. On other weekdays we present colour and music workshops for schools, with public openings from 12 to 1pm.

FESTIVAL DIARY:

Saturday September 14th: 11.30 to 3.30pm
O T T E R: Stevie Wishart (Hurdy-Gurdy) and Maureen Wolloshin (oboes and gliss-anglais) perform new music PLUS Balladeste: Preetha Narayanan (cello) and Tara Franks (violin) perform their own original music in their own unique style of "Indo-Baroque meets alt-folk minimalism"
Sunday Sept 15th: 11.30 to 3.30pm
Symphony for the Environment: The Eye Music Touring project has visited Rochdale, Birmingham, Thurrock, Rotherham and presented themes of Water, Earth, Air and Wood to focus on the Environment. We present the full team of musicians and dancers in our final event of the year: Ansuman Biswas, Sylvia Hallett, Michael Ormiston and Beibei Wang play natural sounds and instruments; Lawrence Casserley and David Stevens transform the natural sounds with computers; Creative dancers Eileih Muir and Conn Williams explore the whole space of Colourscape

Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th September
Colourscape open to the public lunchtimes 12 to 1pm only - reduced price entrance.

Thursday Sept 19th and Friday 20th September
Colourscape open to the public 11 to 4pm for special "Quiet" days without music - reduced price entrance.
Saturday Sept 21st: 11.30 to 3.30pm
New Composers - New Performers. Three new proposals from composers for Colourscape Joe Bates plays his own Hyasynth; Aris Daryono creates new music with Gamelan and electronics; Duncan Chapman performs Lullaby: Sonic Cradle with South Indian vocal melodies, viola and soundscapes
Sunday Sept 22nd: 11.30 to 3.30pm
We present our 2024 Eye Music Rawsthorn commission by Lara Agar with voices, cello, electronics and movement sensors.

TIMES: 11 to 4pm weekends Sept 14/15th and 21/22nd; 12 to 1pm Mon/Tues/Wed; 11 to 4pm Thurs/Friday 19/20th Sept.

LOCATION: The festival site is on Clapham Common near the Windmill pub SW4 9DE. Nearest access on to the common: Windmill Rd and Rookery Rd.

ADMISSION: Adults: £12; Children £6; Family £32. Reduced prices weekdays and Thurs/Friday "Quiet" days.
