announces a new commission fund for composers, creative musicians and sound artists.
Each year we will be awarding a commission for a new performance to take place at our annual Colourscape Music Festival on Clapham Common in September.
The application for the commission award is very simple: a project description sent by email to co-director Simon Desorgher at
admin@eyemusic.org.uk.
Criteria:
We have only one restriction. All applicants must display a knowledge of Colourscape. We will only accept applications from people who have visited Colourscape and demonstrate some working knowledge of how performances in this unique structure can be staged.
Proposals:
can be for any form of musical performance - composed and scored music - improvised forms - music-theatre - electroacoustic - combined art-forms - joint projects between creative performers/artists.
We are looking for proposals that stretch the conventional forms of performance and music. Knowledge of the nature of Colourscape will be crucial to frame the ideas.
Funding:
The final commission fee will reflect the scope of the proposal. We will be able to provide funds where necessary for research, development and equipment. It is possible that we may give more than one award in any year.
Closing Date:
is the end of February for 2008 proposals. Decisions will be made by the end of March.
Decisions:
will be made by our board of Trustees.
